澳籍华裔被逼谴责中共，新州工党党魁发文谴责州长：未能支持澳洲华人

新州工党党魁周迪麦发文，谴责州长Berejiklian未能支持在澳华人，全文如下：

周迪麦凯谴责贝瑞杰克莲未能支持澳大利亚华人

新州工党领袖兼影子多元文化厅长周迪麦凯议员（Jodi McKay MP）谴责自由党州长贝瑞杰克莲（Gladys Berejiklian）未能批评阿贝兹参议员（Eric Abetz）质疑澳大利亚华人对国家的忠诚。

在参议院委员会展开调查期间，自由党联邦参议员埃里克·阿贝茨（Eric Abetz）要求澳大利亚华人证人，包括在澳大利亚出生的华裔，公开无条件地谴责中国共产党。

证人称参议员的要求是“贬低”个人身份并类似于“忠诚度测试”。但是，当昨天在议会问答时间中被问及时，贝瑞杰克莲拒绝谴责阿贝兹参议员的无理要求。

周迪麦凯表示，州长贝瑞杰克莲拒绝批评阿贝兹参议员的过分要求和未能支持澳大利亚华人令人非常失望。

周迪麦凯强调，她明确谴责任何质疑澳大利亚人华人忠诚度的行动或言论，包括阿贝兹参议员的要求。作为新州工党领袖，并代表议会中最为多元化的选区之一，我将一直支持我们的多元文化社区，包括我们澳大利亚华人社区。

周迪麦凯指出，州长自己代表的选区，包括车市活（Chatswood）在内，也有不少澳大利亚华人。州长不应该把同事放在选民之前。

周迪麦凯还表示，我重申工党对我们澳大利亚华人社区的支持，并强调因种族或背景因素来质疑社区成员的忠诚度是不能接受的。

JODI MCKAY CONDEMNS GLADYS BEREJIKLIAN’S FAILURE TO SUPPORT CHINESE AUSTRALIANS

NSW Labor Leader and Shadow Minister for Multiculturalism Jodi McKay MP condemns Liberal Premier Gladys Berejiklian for failing to criticise Senator Abetz for questioning the loyalty of Chinese Australians.

Before a Senate inquiry, Liberal Federal Senator Eric Abetz demanded that Chinese Australian witnesses, including those born in Australia, publicly and unconditionally condemn the Chinese Communist Party.

Witnesses at the inquiry have called out the Senator’s demand as ‘demeaning’ and similar to that of a ‘loyalty test’. However, Gladys Berejiklian has refused to condemn Senator Abetz’s outrageous demand when asked in Question Time yesterday.

“I am disappointed that Premier Gladys Berejiklian has refused to criticise Senator Abetz for his outrageous demand and for failing to stand up for Chinese Australians.” Jodi McKay said.

“I unequivocally condemn any action or speech that questions the loyalty of Chinese Australians, including the demands by Senator Abetz.  As Labor’s Leader in NSW and representing one of the most diverse electorates in the Parliament, I will always stand up for our multicultural communities, including our Chinese Australian community.”

“The Premier also represents a significant Chinese Australian population in her own electorate which includes the suburb of Chatswood. The Premier should not put her colleagues before her constituents.”

“I reaffirm Labor’s support to our Chinese Australian community and stress that it is never acceptable to question the loyalty of any members of our society based on their heritage or background.”
